Serving the Community

All within the church see the vital role that ordinary, everyday Christian living has in serving the community and in various ways, we seek to have an impact both on the community in which we live and further afield.

Throughout the year TBC distributes leaflets to every home in town. Over the years, we've covered various issues such as family life, St.Patrick, "What is the Bible?", Halloween, love and many more. We also give away free calendars at the end of each year.

Concerts.........

TBC has a fair share of musical talent and since 2002, we have put on an annual concert. They are arranged to appeal to various tastes, from classical to modern and several shades in between! The concerts also contain brief reflections on a particular theme from the Bible.

In November 2007, TBC helped in the collection of around 1 500 shoeboxes bound for underprivileged children, mainly in Eastern Europe.

Operation Christmas Child, organised by "Samaritan's Purse", an international Christian relief agency, was supported locally by a number of different schools, groups and individuals. We hope that even more shoeboxes full of gifts and toys will find their way out to needy children next Christmas and that through these gifts, the children may experience Christian love and concern in action.

TBC  works in conjunction with the "Amazing Journey to Bible Times" exhibition. This exhibition travels to many parts of Ireland giving a flavour, quite literally, of Bible stories and events which have shaped our Christian faith. Part of the exhibition involves sampling some food from Bible times and dressing up in the kind of clothes that people used to wear in those days. More schools are requesting the exhibition in the Waterford area. We are also able to offer the "Jesus Exhibition" to secondary schools which has display panels looking at the life and ministry of Jesus and the history of the Bible.

Each summer, United Beach Missions run activities for children and families on the beach in Tramore. With Bible stories, games, songs, quizzes and competitions, there is great fun to be had and it's all free! Tramore Bible Church actively supports this work.
